A short limestone cave for first-timers. 150 metres of stalactites and stalagmites, decently lit, ₹20 entry. The formations are modest but the feeling of standing in absolute dark is unmistakeable. Best done in the late afternoon when the crowds thin.

A working local bazaar that doubles as the best spot for Khasi handicrafts. Bamboo baskets, cane work, local honey, spices. The khoh carrying baskets in particular are beautiful objects — woven tight, pointed base, meant for mountain trails. Go early for the produce bustle.
