Musée Théodore Monod d'Art Africain (IFAN)★★★★ Luz Caminera's pick
One of West Africa's oldest and most important African art museums — 9,000 pieces including masks, statues, textiles, and musical instruments. The garden alone is worth the visit. Temporary exhibitions rotate; the photography show with Quai Branly runs until May 2026.

African Renaissance Monument★★★★ Luz Caminera's pick
The tallest statue in Africa — 50 metres of bronze designed by Pierre Goudiaby Atepa on the highest of the twin Mamelles hills. The view from the top over the entire Cap-Vert peninsula and the Atlantic is genuinely spectacular. The statue itself is controversial, oversized, impossible to ignore.
